You can begin to discover your very own gems of wisdom when you begin to give less attention to the things that scare you in life. If you can face your inner demons, stare them in the eye and know them you can then walk past their glares to the glowing center of yourself and find what is right and true for you. It can be an amazing experience and at the same time frightening. But, the results can be exhilarating. Still there are times we do all have a hard time trusting both our judgement and hunches. We must learn to tap into our very own inner knowing and most important of all value it in ourselves.

Too many of us think that only a fateful chosen few women are meant to shine and be fabulous and that the rest of us are less because of it. I believe that all women are meant to be fabulous in their own different ways. I remember saying that to a group of women in Manila, and they looked at me like I was crazy! But I will keep on saying this to women now for as long as I live.

Also, too many women (and men) believe that wisdom is only for the old and greying of society. But many, many times I have met young women in their 20s who are choosing to do or already doing amazing things with their lives---when I was that age I was still concerned with mostly the clothes I wore, getting the right job and the prospect of wedding bells. And so from knowing these fabulous women, I know that no matter what age we are, we just have to learn to push the insecurities and fears aside to let our wisdom come through and we can make solid choices and have no regrets.

I would like to invite you all to organize a woman's wisdom sharing circle in your school, church or neighborhood this coming October or November. There is so, so much to share and to uncover about others and about yourself at such gatherings. I find that women come away from wisdom gathering circles with new knowledge about themselves, renewed hope and renewed energy. These get-togethers are a time and place for a woman to rediscover her inner light and to come away from ready-and-more-willing to find a way to live a better life and help others' lights shine brighter, too.
